Cucuteni is the name of a village in Moldavia situated near the town of Boto║ani. It became famous when many pottery objects belonging to a large Neolithic culture (3700û2500 B.C.) were discovered here. The earthenware is painted mainly in red, black, and white, and is on display in the History and Archaeology Museums in Ia║i and Boto║ani.
